OUR Mission

The INO Board is dedicated to supporting and introducing opera and related vocal performances to the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene region, in the current context of rebuilding the organization in 2024.  While the ultimate goal of opera organizations is a large, main stage performance with full orchestra as directed by the composer, our current resources dictate that we work on a smaller scale until a full production is feasible.  We are starting with the popular Opera Truck and organizing small venues, with arias, duets and keyboard accompanist.  From there, educational programs in the community and schools will be supported.

OUR VISION

Our vision will reflect what we see and hear from the community now that we are rebuilding this organization.  Financial support, feedback and attendance will cast the votes for growth, expansion, and renewed commitment to larger productions truer to a pure form of Opera in musica, and modern adaptations and costuming.  We will continue The Opera Truck and smaller community performances.  Further, we will explore new compositions, and compositions from other cultures and forms such as operetta and zarzuela from Latin America.

OUR VALUES

The Board will work toward the form of opera intended by the original composer as well as modern adaptations of these. Financial goals  are based on donations, grants, concessions and endowment earnings.  We will be debt-free.  Sponsorships from donors who request specific performances will be honored as well.  We intend to build relationships before funds, and to acknowledge our history as well as our future.  Finally, we welcome and encourage combined efforts with regional symphony orchestras and opera companies and related non-profit organizations.
